IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Reporting a Safeguarding Concern Procedure

What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.

Safeguarding means:

  • protecting children from abuse and maltreatment
  • preventing harm to children’s health or development
  • ensuring children grow up with the provision of safe and effective care
  • taking action to enable all children and young people to have the best outcomes.

Safeguarding children and child protection guidance and legislation applies to all children up to the age of 18.

Club Safeguarding Officer (CSO)

The Club CSO is there to help and advice both members and officials of the club and you can contact the CSO to discuss anything, with regard to Safeguarding, that may be concerning you however small it might be. In most cases these concerns can be resolved following the In-House Resolution procedure but if necessary a formal Safeguarding procedure will be followed.

If you wish to contact the CSO then please contact Vic Harris on 01628 780224 or 07964 059882. You can also contact her by email: victoriaharris@doctors.net.uk. An overview of the Club Safeguarding Officer duties can be seen here.
