BECOMING AN UMPIRE

Within the club we actively encourage members to umpire.

If you are interested in pursuing your umpiring please contact our Umpiring Secretary Bev Goodman on bev.goodman@sky.com

Bev will discuss your plans with you and endeavour to arrange for you to attend the appropriate course and/or set you on the right path to achieve your goal.

LATEST UPDATE MAY 2015: AGE LIMIT FOR THE YOUNGER UMPIRES

Beginner Umpiring Course

The aim of this course is to introduce the rudiments of umpiring a netball match junior or inexperienced players in club or school environment.

C Award Umpiring Course

To prepare umpires with further knowledge of rules, umpire competencies, protocols, techniques and what is required to take the C award written and practical assessment

Both Beginner and 'C' award umpiring courses are organised by the counties.
'B' award umpiring courses are run by the region.

   15th January 2017   St Mary’s Catholic School, Newcastle upon Tyne

   15th January 2017   Brompton Academy

   15th January 2017  Strode College, Street

The Youth Umpire Award

The Youth Umpire Award is the ideal opportunity to introduce and encourage youths, 13-18 years to become involved in officiating. This is delivered via teachers and coaches in schools over a number of sessions accumulating to 6 hours plus additional practice.
