Leagues

Currently the Magnet Netball Club has teams representing the club in the following leagues:

A team is first entered into the Junior Berkshire Netball League as U12's in Yr 7 and we only enter a team if a) we have enough players to form a squad. Min no = 8 Max = 12 and b) they have reached a playing level suitable for the league. All matches are played indoors on Sundays with the U12's playing at 9:00am and the older yr groups playing later games with the last games being played at approx 3pm. All games have 4 quarters with the U12's playing 4 x 12 mins and by the time they are 14 they play 4 x 15 mins. Matches are approx once to twice a month depending on the schedule.

The Junior Charters League is a great opportunity for those girls who do not play in the Sunday matches to still play regular competitive netball. These matches are always played on a Monday at 6.15pm on the outside courts at the Charters School in Sunningdale and is organised by Patricia Balcombe from Charters Triple SSS Adult Netball League. Matches are about every 3 weeks as per schedule provided. You do need to consider transport to the venue and sometimes parents lift share.

MDNL (Maidenhead and District Netball League)

When you are 14 years old you are eligible to play in adult netball leagues. MDNL play on three nights at Braywick Park. Mon (Prem & 1st Div), Tues (2nd Div) and Wed (3rd Div). As there are no recreational sessions offered by the Magnet Netball Club for Yr 10 and above we encourage our members to play on a Wednesday night starting in Div 3. After Easter, in Yr 9, we invite girls to form a team so that they get a whole term of practice together and in May we start to play them in the Summer League against adult teams. Being part of a team does mean regular commitment to play on Wednesday nights for one hour either at 7.30pm or 8.30pm, depending on the schedule. It usually costs approx £60 - 70 a year to play from Sept to end March, this covers court/umpire fees to MDNL. If you then enter the Summer League there will additional fees.

Each player also needs to purchase yearly insurance called England Netball Membership via the ENGAGE system (Netball Connected)

Teams are normally managed by a parent and the Magnet Netball Club do their best to provide a coach but it is not a guarantee.
